Power was completely out in the CBS booth with Jim Nantz and
Phil Simms and the network had to lean on sideline reporters Steve Tasker and
Solomon Wilcots for updates.
The website awfulannouncing.com notes on the radio side, Dial Global tweeted this picture of play
by play man Kevin Harlan having to broadcast the power outage to the nation via
landline phone. Isn’t technology great!
New Orleans
electric utility Entergy Corp said the blackout was due to an issue with the
Superdome's own equipment.
The NFL released a statement, which read: "Stadium
authorities are investigating the cause of the power outage. We will have more
information as it becomes available."
