Alabama Radio: WANI Morning Show Best In State

For the seventh year in a row, WANI 1400 AM, 987 FM, 94.3 HD2 Auburn-Opelika This Morning has won Best Radio Talk Show presented by the Alabama Broadcasters Association. This also marks the fifth time WANI has won multiple ABBY Awards.  The ABBY Awards were presented at a dinner in Birmingham this past Saturday evening.

WANI’s morning show, Auburn-Opelika This Morning, was named the Best Radio Talk Show in the state. The show, which features Station Manager Andy Burcham, Julie Burns and Rich Perkins, airs weekdays from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and involves multiple local guests, special features as well as complete local news and sports coverage in cooperation with the Opelika-Auburn News. This is the seventh year in a row the show has won the ABBY Award for Best Radio Talk Show.

Also presented an ABBY Award was News Director Julie Burns. Burns, who also co-hosts Auburn-Opelika This Morning with Burcham, was the winner of the ABBY Award for Best Regularly Scheduled Newscast for Radio.  This was the third time Burns has won the award and fourth time for WANI.

Andy Burcham and his entire team take a great deal of pride in the show and it shows by winning the award for the best talk show in the state for the 7th year in a row."
