CCM+E Taps Tommy Austin For Chicago

Tommy Austin
Clear Channel Media + Entertainment Chicago have named Tommy Austin as the new Vice President of Programming, overseeing all programming and digital operations for the entire Chicago cluster of stations. He will also assume the role of Program Director for WLIT-FM/93.9 Lite FM.

The new promotion is effective this coming Thursday, March 21st, according to ChicagoMedia & Radio.

Tommy Austin replaces two out of the three roles Tony Coles previously held. (A programmer out of New York took over the national third role this week.) Tony Coles began in his new role of Senior Vice President of Programming for the West Region for Clear Channel Media + Entertainment this past Friday.

Coles will continue to be based out of Chicago and will be available to Austin for any help needed in getting settled in to the new job.

Austin comes to Chicago this week from St. Louis. Since April of last year, he served as the Regional Program Manager for Clear Channel Media + Entertainment's stations in St. Louis, MO and Kansas, based out of St. Louis. He also was the Program Director of KSLZ-FM there. This was the second tour of duty in St. Louis for the veteran Clear Channel programmer.

He has been with the company for over 20 years. In addition to his time in St. Louis, he has previously worked as a programmer in Minneapolis, MN, Portland, OR, and appropriately enough, Austin, TX.
