R.I.P. Houston Radio Legend Rick Roberts Dies

Claude Roberts known on Houston's airwaves for 30 plus years as Rick Roberts passed away Thursday afternoon.

Roberts started his radio career in 1959 at KYOK radio. He served as program director and eventually moved over to KTSU-FM. He often interviewed famous musicians and left a lasting mark on both the community and students.

"He was a master programmer. He knew the heartbeat of what the people wanted and what was going on in the city. He had that type of knowledge. God gave him that gift," KTSU-FM Operations Manager Charles Hudson told KTRK News.

Roberts was 72 years old.
