'Hottest Women in Radio' List Unveiled

Elaina
She’s half of the WAOA / WA1A 107.1 FM morning show, and she’s also recognized as one of the “Hottest Women in Radio,” too. According to Florida Today, Elaina was nominated by fans and 24-year-old got news Friday morning that after weeks of voting, she placed 17.

The contest previously was hosted by the pop culture website www.popcrunch.com. Mark Kaye, morning host at WAPE 95.1 FM in Jacksonville, took it over this year and rebranded it as “The Kaye List: The Hottest Women in Radio 2013.”

“That was awesome!” Elaina said Friday. “I really didn’t think I would place very high. We joked on air that I would make the top 50. I’d be happy if I made the top 100, the top 200.”

Nominees were announced in early June, and hundreds of comments were left on www.thekayelist.com and on Kaye’s Facebook fan page. The response to the list via social media has been so overwhelming that Kaye posted on his Twitter feed (@markkayeshow) at 7:30 a.m. “Server crashed. Working on it…sorry folks! Stay Tuned!”

THE 'Hottest' Eria Rico
The nominations cited radio personalities in markets big and small.

“One of my old friends from San Diego made the list as well,” Elaina said. “We’re excited here because we’re a smaller market. We were going up against L.A., New York, Orlando … all these big cities that had a lot more people to vote.”

Erica Rico of 93Q, Houston was named No. 1, according to Kaye’s Facebook page.
