Indy Radio: WNTS 1590-AM to Flip To Latin Hits

WSYW-AM To Air Spanish ‘All-Christmas’

Continental Broadcast Group announces that it has entered into an LMA of station WNTS 1590 AM in the Indianapolis market.

Continental Broadcast Group owns and operates two Spanish language radio stations in Indianapolis, which are WEDJ 107.1 FM Radio Latina and WSYW 810AM La Joya. Continental Broadcast Group plans to change format on WNTS-AM and launch a high-energy Latin Hits format on the NEW “EXITOS 1590” which will debut on Monday, November 4th, 2013.

Continental's lead station 107.1FM- "Radio Latina" airs the nation’s top syndicated Spanish morning show (Raul Brindis)... While the new station on 1590AM will feature the market’s only live, local morning show broadcasted in Spanish. La Joya - 810AM will make an interesting transition also, becoming Indy’s only Spanish "All-Christmas" radio station during the months of November and December.

Station Management added: "Acquiring the rights to broadcast on WNTS allows us to expand our on-air content, to better serve the Spanish-speaking population of central Indiana. We look forward to launching an exciting and compelling radio format on 1590AM, that will compliment what we have built over more than a decade in Radio Latina.

Likewise, 810AM–WSYW will continue to serve our market's Hispanic community with a third option in Spanish-language programming. The addition of WNTS completes a total on-air package that we are proud to offer to Hispanic consumers & advertisers in this market, and we are very excited about what the future holds for our radio stations and our listeners!" (Bart Johnson, General Manager, Continental Broadcast Group/Indianapolis, IN)

Continental's Spanish stations will unite to hold a 2-day on-air Radiothon, to help raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on November 7-8.
