NYC Radio: No Decision On Boomer & Carton Simulcast

Now that the government is up and running, maybe one our country’s other pressing economic problems, the shutdown of the “Boomer and Carton Show” WFAN/MSG simulcast, can be solved, according to the NY Daily News.

Sports Media writer Bob Raissman quotes Industry sources as saying the program remains in limbo because of legal wrangling. Raissman first reported last month that the CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) stepped up to make a bid to acquire the show, which had aired on the MSG Network for three years. CBS Radio owns WFAN. Prior to CBSSN getting involved, YES made an offer for the program.

As the incumbent network, MSG has the right to match any bid. There’s the rub, according to Raissman, MSG suits have not been able to consider CBSSN’s offer because they have not been presented with it. Until that happens, the “Boomer and Carton Show” will continue as a radio-only affair.

Raissman wonders,  is it possible CBS Radio is stalling so MSG loses interest in the show, allowing CBSSN, CBS Radio’s cable TV brother, to acquire it?

Stay Tuned.
