Cumulus Media Expands Corporate Programming Division

Cumulus Media has announced a series of programming executive appointments designed to support national content efforts.
  • News/Talk: Randall Bloomquist is named Corporate Program Director
  • Rock: Derek Madden and Scott Jameson are each promoted to Corporate Program Director, in addition to their local programming responsibilities (Madden in Los Angeles, Jameson in Minneapolis)
  • Sports: Reflecting the company’s growing focus on sports, Jim Mahanay is now Corporate Program Director focusing full-time on this key content area

“Our success depends on executing effectively across programming at the local and national levels, which is why I’m very pleased about these new appointments that will help Cumulus continue building on our commitment to the very best content,” said John Dickey, co-COO and Executive Vice President of Cumulus.

Bloomquist
Bloomquist is a veteran talk radio programmer with a reputation for re-energizing talk stations and developing talk radio personalities. Bloomquist mostly recently operated Bloomquist Media, a marketing communications and content creation firm. Prior to starting his own business, Bloomquist served as Program Director of News/Talk 640 WGST in Atlanta. His radio career also includes programming management positions at WMAL/Washington, DC, WBT/Charlotte, NC and WRVA & WRNL/Richmond, VA.

Madden
Madden is currently the Operations Manager/Program Director and Midday Host at KLOS in Los Angeles. Prior to joining Cumulus/LA, he spent more than a decade in San Francisco, where he served as Program Director at KSAN and KSJO/San Jose, as Music Director of KLLC and on the air staff at KITS. Additionally, Madden has held programming management positions at WXZZ/Lexington, KY, WRXR/Augusta, GA and WVBR/Ithaca, NY.
  
“There’s so much great programming talent joining Cumulus, and I’m stoked to get a chance to work with sharp programmers like Troy Hanson, Scott Jameson and Aaron Roberts,” Madden said. “I’m pumped to explore new ways to help get the most out of this great stable of stations. Jameson
Jameson is a 25-year programming veteran specializing in Classic Rock, currently serving as Operations Manager/Program Director for KQRS, KXXR and Sports Radio 105 The Ticket in Minneapolis.

Before joining Cumulus, Jameson held the position of VP/Programming for CBS Radio's Adult Rock stations and Executive Producer for the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network. His radio career also includes 17 years in Indianapolis with Classic Rock WFBQ, Alternative WRZX and the Colts Radio Network.
