R.I.P.: St. Louis Radio Broadcaster Emil Wilde

Longtime St. Louis radio and television announcer Emil Wilde, passed away Nov. 12, 2013.

He was 85, according to stltoday.com.

Known to his friends as "Aim," Wilde (pronounced Wil-dee) was an announcer on a number of local radio stations from the late 1930 to the late 1980s.

According to Frank Absher's St. Louis Media History Foundation, Mr. Wilde began in 1939 at KFUO and then served three years in the military during World War II. After the war, he returned to St. Louis and worked for KFUO, WIL (as "Alan Scott"), KWK, KSD and KMOX.
