CT Radio: Personality Dan Williams Discloses Cancer Battle

Dan Williams
Veteran CT radio personality Dan Williams has revealed he is being treated for bladder cancer, according to masslive.com.

Williams, who, along with wife Kim Zachary, hosted a morning show on WHYN radio for many years, posted the news today on the couple's website.

"Two years ago they found a blockage in my ureter, the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder. The tumor had already killed off the kidney and the doctor suggested we keep an eye on the growth in my ureter. Two years later and I’m in the hospital with blood clots in my calf and the tumor has grown considerably," Williams wrote.

A PET scan and addition treatment is planned early next month, he added.

Williams believes his cancer may have been caused by chemicals in the drinking water at Camp LeJune, North Carolina, where he was stationed as a Marine between1973 and 1976.

"The Dan and Kim Morning Show" originally began on WHYN 560 AM in 1995 before switching over to FM in 1997. Clear Channel pulled the plug on the show in January 2012.

Kim Zachary is now a co-host on WDRC 102.9 FM in Hartford, while Williams works for WAQY-FM Rock 102 in East Longmeadow.
