R.I.P.: Radio Preacher Harold Camping Passes At 92.

Harold Camping
Harold Camping, the radio preacher who predicted Jesus’s return and the world’s end, has died, according to a statement released late Monday by his Family Radio network.

He was 92, according to RNS.

Camping died Sunday evening, the report says. Camping had a fall at his home November 30, and he has been in weak health due to a stroke since 2011.

Camping first predicted Jesus’ return in 1994, but his most recent predictions gained national attention through advertisements and the Family Radio network of stations he founded. He warned that “judgement day” would occur in May 2011 and said the world would end in October 2011.

In March 2012, he declared that his May prediction was “incorrect and sinful” and pronounced that his ministry would no longer predict when the world would end.

The ministry sold its prominent stations and laid off  staffers, with assets dropping from $135 million in 2007 to $29.2 million in 2011.
