Cheyenne broadcasting legend, Dave Chaffin, signed off for the final time Friday morning, according to KGWN-TV.

Born and raised in Cheyenne Dave Chaffin has been a familiar voice to listeners for more than 30 years in Cheyenne.

He's spent the last 13 years at KGAB 650 AM hosting the "Morning Zone".

"Seriously, I'm going to miss it," said Chaffin.

Chaffin wanted to make a difference in people's lives and he did that for another Cheyenne radio personality.

During his years he's interviewed six Wyoming governors and seven different United States Senators.

Chaffin brought he issues to his listeners and Republican or Democrat, Chaffin was respected by all politicians.

"You've got to find somebody who will stay as current as he does and be as quick as he is to ask those kind of questions because he didn't let you get away with much. It was a good interview and it was a fun interview and it was subsidive. I think it's a real loss for us," said former Wyoming governor, Dave Freudenthal.

"He's always opinionated, but he presents his opinion with great respect and his questions are always very thoughtful. So I have great admiration for him," said U.S. Senator, John Barrasso.

Dave Chaffin has been battling cancer and a fund has been set up at American National Bank to help Dave and his wife Lisa with the medical costs.
