NYC Radio: Patty Steele To Join CBS-FM Morning Show

Patty Steele
Scott Shannon at WCBS 101.1 FM announced this morning that NYC Radio veteran Patty Steele is joining the CBS-FM Morning Show.

Steele worked with Shannon at WPLJ and WHTZ and most recently has been PM Drive news anchor at WOR 710 AM.

She'll join the show this Thursday morning and replaces Debbie Rodriguez, who left the CBS-FM morning show a week after Dan Taylor was shifted to mid-days to make room for Shannon.

Rodriguez continues at CBS Radio, anchoring for WCBS 880 AM part-time.

Interim co-host Suzie Cerone will now fill-in for Traffic reporter Joe Nolan.  Cerone will also continue reporting traffic for Clear Channel's Total Traffic in the metro.

"Patty is not only a fun, compassionate personality, but one of the most credible news people in New York,” said WCBS-FM Program Director Jim Ryan.  “That combination, along with her chemistry with Scott, makes her the perfect person for this show. We are so excited to bring her to CBS-FM.”

Added Steele, “I’m delighted to be reunited with my dear friend Scott Shannon, who has created so many legendary radio stations and morning shows. To help him bring his brand of magic to an iconic station like CBS-FM is an honor. There’s no one better to laugh with, cry with, learn with and yes, fight with than Scott. I can’t wait!”

Steele also has on-air experience at radio stations in St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.
