Boise Radio: KIDO's Kevin Miller Issues Turkey Challenge

"Don't Be A Turkey!  Give A Turkey"

KIDO 580 AM radio personality Kevin Miller is talking turkey - and he's dressed up as one.

"It's all about the Treasure Valley Turkey Challenge," Miller told KTVB-8. "It's always better to give a turkey than to be one, and that's why we're here."

The challenge is part of an effort to raise holiday food supplies for the Boise Rescue Mission.

Miller began his six-day marathon turkey drive Monday at a Walmart in nearby Nampa.

All of the donated food will go to feed local homeless people over the holidays, according to Rev. Bill Roscoe of the Boise Rescue Mission.

"We have a lot of people at the rescue mission right now, and as the season gets colder and wetter we'll be seeing more people, so we need all the help we can get" Roscoe said. "And with Thanksgiving coming, looking at a couple thousand turkeys for Thanksgiving and then Christmas again, we need all the help we can get. We appreciate Miller doing this."

This is Miller's fifth year doing the Turkey Challenge. Last year, his drive brought in more than 100 turkeys, $3,500 in cash and thousands of pounds of food.
