Election Week Was A Very Good Week For FNC

For Election Week, the news winners were NBC in broadcasting and Fox News Channel in cable.

The Orlando Sentinel reports Fox News was the most-watched channel in all of cable last week, averaging 1.4 million viewers for the total day. Coming in at No. 2 was Nickelodeon, and No. 3 was ESPN.

In prime-time cable for the week, ESPN was tops. Fox News ranked second, followed by AMC, which got a big lift from "The Walking Dead."

Fox News had its best week of the year. In prime time, Fox News averaged 2.5 million viewers to MSNBC's 712,000 and CNN's 607,000.

"NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams" averaged 9.5 million viewers -- its biggest audience since the week of March 24. "ABC World News Tonight With David Muir" ranked second with 8.8 million -- up 9 percent from a year ago. The "CBS Evening News With Scott Pelley" was third with 7.2 million.

The race was far tighter in the 25-to-54 age group, which is most important to news advertisers. In the age group, NBC averaged 2.191 million viewers to ABC's 2.179 million and CBS' 1.837 million.
