Chicago Radio: iHM Cuts Three Loose From WGCI-FM

Sculfield, Chantele
iHeartMedia/Chicago parted company with the Program Director and two morning cohosts for its UrbanContemporary WGCI 107.5 FM.

Gone are PD Kenard Karter, after just seven months on the job, along with Tony Sculfield and Nina Chantele from the GCI Morning Riot. Chantele pulled double duty, voice tracking middays on clustermate Top40 WKSC 103.5/KissFM.

The remaining member of the AM show, Leon Rogers will continue in that role, along with weekender Rob Nice.  A search for replacements for Sculfield and Chantele is said to be underway.  However, no one would be surprised if iHM didn't import the syndicated "Breakfast Club" from WWPR 105.1 FM/Power in NYC for wake-up duty.

For now, PD duties will be handled by Derrick Rown, who is Director of Urban Programming for iHM in Chicago.

Media blogger Robert Feder notes WGCI ranked 11th in the Nielsen Audio PPM Ratings for November with a 3.4 share and  the morning show was 15th overall and 7th in 18-34.
