Chicago Radio: WGN To Put Roe Conn In PM Drive

Roe Conn
Tribune Media is expected to announce this week the hiring of longtime talk personality Roe Conn for PM Drive on WGN 720 AM.

He'll replace Bill Leff and Wendy Snyder from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Leff and Snyder have held the afternoon shift since they succeeded Garry Meier last May.

Conn most previously was cohosting PM Drive on WLS 890 AM with Richard Roeper.  The two were  pulled off the air early last October.

Cumulus eventally brought back Steve Dahl for the late afternoon shift.

Conn started as a midday producer and then co-host for WMAQ 670 AM, beginning in 1986.

He joined WLS in 1989 as a weekend host for the station, then owned by ABC Radio. In 1991, Conn was elevated to weekdays as host of the midday shift. He moved to afternoons in 1996, where he initially teamed up with Garry Meier – Dahl’s former on-air radio partner.

Conn began co-hosting the radio show with Roeper, a Sun-Times columnist, in 2010.
