Chicago Radio: Taylor Swift Calls Cancer-Stricken Fan

Emily Beazley
Taylor Swift made cancer patient Emily Beazley's wish come true, according to The Chicago Tribune.

The Grammy Award winning singer called the 12-year-old suburban Mount Greenwood girl around 5 p.m. Wednesday, said Ed Beazley, Emily's dad.

For about 10 minutes they talked about music and touring and cancer, her dad said.

"She knew all about me," said Emily, who is battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma. "My favorite color, the street naming.

"She told me about her tour starting in Tokyo and she asked what my favorite song was and I told her 'Shake It Off.' Then she said, 'Oh, that's really cool.'"

For more than a week, since doctors said a last-ditch chemotherapy treatment was not working, supporters of the Beazley family, many of whom call themselves Emily's Entourage, have been appealing to Swift via social media to call Emily. Last weekend, they made a video with nearly 200 children singing and dancing to Swift songs and sent it to the singer. Others across town, including KISS 103.5 FM radio personality Fred of "Fred & Angi in the morning" have been lobbying the celebrity as well.

Emily has tickets to Swift's July concert at Soldier Field, but the family isn't sure she'll be well enough to attend.
