NAB Show Day Two Features Mel, Kevin & Bean

NAB Show, the world's largest annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage, and distribute entertainment across all platforms, today featured "The Walking Dead," "American Sniper" cinematographer Tom Stern, Mel Karmazin, and legendary radio personalities Kevin Ryder & Gene "Bean" Baxter.

The day's sessions kicked off with a standing-room only Super Session for "The Walking Dead," which featured AMC President Charlie Collier, "The Walking Dead" comic book creator and series executive producer Robert Kirkman, and series star Steven Yeun. Moderated by TV Guide Executive Editor Michael Schneider, the trio discussed why the series appeals to such a broad audience, the recently announced spinoff series ("Fear the Walking Dead"), and the passion of the show's viewers.

At the NAB Show Radio Luncheon, Gordon Smith, NAB president and CEO, inducted Kevin Ryder and Gene "Bean" Baxter into the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame. The duo host the longest-running a.m. drive show in Southern California, where they've been entertaining listeners for 25 years. Marilu Henner, a five-time Golden Globe nominee, New York Times best-selling author and nationally syndicated radio personality, opened the luncheon with a spirited address that shared her perspectives on the value radio provides audiences on a local and international scale.



At the Creative Master Series, "American Sniper" cinematographer Tom Stern, ASC, gave a keynote that addressed films he created in partnership with Clint Eastwood, provided his insights into working with crews around the globe, and his experiences using digital capture to visualize "American Sniper." In a separate session, the VFX team from the hit video game "Destiny" discussed how they created a world with the goal of providing a social playing experience that lasts hundreds of hours, rather than the normal dozen or so hours that are standard for most games.

In its first year at NAB Show, the Online Video Conference featured Alison Moore, general manager and executive VP of NBCUniversal's TV Everywhere initiative, as she addressed the commitment of the network to provide access to content across multiple platforms.

The day concluded with a conversation between legendary media entrepreneur Mel Karmazin and Wall Street Journal media and entertainment reporter Joe Flint.
