Cumulus Names Lori Lewis VP/Social Media

Lori Lewis
Cumulus Media announces that it has appointed digital and social media strategist and 25-year radio veteran Lori Lewis to the newly created position of Vice President of Social Media.

In her new position, Lewis will work with Cumulus’ programming and sales teams to develop integrated social media strategies for the company’s radio stations and network, Westwood One. She will also provide social media solutions to Westwood One’s affiliate partners as part of the company’s Enterprise Solutions Group.

Lewis will report directly to Lew Dickey, President and Chief Executive Officer for Cumulus, and will work closely with the senior leadership team at Cumulus and Westwood One.

Lewis comes to Cumulus from media consulting firm Jacobs Media, where she served as Director of Digital and Social Strategy for the past four years. Prior to that, she was Multi-Media Content Manager for Midwest Communications, after more than a decade as a successful on-air personality and programmer.

Lew Dickey said: “Lori is our industry’s foremost authority on social media. She has architected successful social strategies for many of the biggest brands in radio. We are excited for Lori to bring her unique experience and expertise to our station group as well as to our affiliate partners at Westwood One.”

Gary Pizzati, Senior Vice President of Cumulus said: “Without question, Lori is the most qualified person to develop the social media strategy for Cumulus. This newly expanding revenue stream requires the leadership necessary to drive engagement and sales. Lori has the knowledge and respect of the industry to accomplish both. We’re thrilled to have her join our family.”

Lewis said: “I am honored to take this newly created role within Cumulus, and to create real value and impact socially for our audiences, advertisers and affiliate partners. Many mistake social for volume, when in fact it’s about differentiating. This move, on behalf of Lew Dickey and Gary Pizzati, speaks volumes of their leadership and foresight in moving Cumulus forward, and I thank them for that."
