MD Radio: Rouse & Co. Returning To The Air

Longtime Baltimore area radio personality and Harford County resident Steve Rouse will return to radio this fall with a new morning show on Havre de Grace-based W284BE 104.7 FM "The Point," also broadcasting on WHGM 1330 AM.

According to The Baltimore Sun, Rouse said he looks forward to bringing back The Rouse & Company morning show, whose 17-year run on Baltimore's WQSR was abruptly canceled in 2005 after the station switched to the all-music Jack FM format.

The new show will debut at 6 a.m. Oct. 12, according to a news release from 104.7's general manager Jeff Davis.

Rouse will be joined by Annie Beccio, also known as "Annie B," a co-host on Rouse's TV show "Baltimore Saturday Night," according to the release.

"It's actually true. I'm excited about it," Rouse, 64, said Monday evening about the new show. Since leaving radio, he has been busy with his Rousedale Farm in Fallston and said he was reluctant to return to the airwaves after being stung by corporate radio.

"One of the biggest things for me on this was, [104.7] is not a big, corporate-run, major deal. It's one guy and one owner, and everyone is working as a team to make this thing work. And I love the music," Rouse said.

WHGM/104.7 recently re-branded itself as the "Feel Good Music Station" and plays "upbeat music from the 1960s to today, focusing on the 1970s and 1980s.".

Rouse expects the new show to be pretty similar to the original Rouse & Company, which aired from 1988 until May 2005 on WQSR 105.7 FM, known today as The Fan (WJZ-FM).
