Milwaukee Radio: WKTI Hires Dayton Kane, Jillene Khan

Country WKTI 94.5 FM has started filling in its on-air lineup, adding an evening personality and an afternoon personality who'll also be the new country station's program director.

Dayton Kane
Dayton Kane, a Milwaukee native who had been program director and a morning on-air personality at WKSZ-FM in De Pere, will handle afternoons at WKTI and serve as program manager. Tom Langmyer, vice president and general manager of WKTI and WTJM 620 AM, had been serving in the latter role since the station switched to country music in May.

“Our search has centered greatly on people with local connections, hit music experience and a love of Country music. Hiring Dayton Kane, a Milwaukee native, who’s ready to come home and has been working just up the road, is a huge win for KTI Country,” said Langmyer.  “Jillene, who is also from the Upper Midwest, is an exciting, up-and-coming broadcaster with an infectious personality that will do a great job hosting our live, local evening show.”

Khan, who grew up in the Minneapolis area, is the station's new night host. Most recently, she was an afternoon host on WLLR-FM in the Quad Cities.

Kane and Khan — the first full-time personalities hired at WKTI since it went country — begin their on-air work Sept. 8.

JSOnline reports the station has said it plans to feature 24-hour live programming with all local personalities.
