D/FW Radio: Mac Daniels Named PD for KPLX, KSCS

Mac Daniels
Cumulus Media announces that it has promoted Country programming veteran Mac Daniels as Program Director for heritage Country stations KPLX 99.5 FM The Wolf and New Country KSCS 96.3 FM in Dallas.

Daniels joins Cumulus Media Dallas from KSJO/NASH FM 92.3 San Jose, where he was Program Director.

Daniels is a 30-year programming professional with 20 years in large and major market programming. He has also programmed stations including: WMZQ, Washington, D.C.; WYCD, Detroit; KSKS, Fresno; and KASE and KVET, Austin, where he was Operations manager for iHeart Media.

Early in his career, he was Assistant Program Director of KPLX Dallas, so this move marks a homecoming for Daniels. Daniels assumes his new position in Dallas on February 16, 2016.

Dan Bennett, Vice President/Market Manager for Cumulus Media Dallas said: “The KSCS/KPLX job called for someone with an impressive major market track record in Country and Mac’s accomplishments and experience are just what we need. His experience programming two competitive Country stations in the same market owned by the same company fits perfectly with our situation in Dallas.”

Daniels said: “ I am very excited for this opportunity to shepherd two of the nation’s leading Country music brands to greater success. The team assembled in DFW is poised for success in every platform. I am humbled that Dan Bennett, Mike McVay and Charlie Cook has placed their confidence in me for this role at two of the stations that are key to the success of Cumulus.  I couldn’t be happier to be returning to Texas and to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Those who know me are well aware of my undying passion for this market and these specific radio stations. There are no words great enough to express the feeling of excitement I have at this moment.”
