Houston Radio: Ryan McCredden Gets New CBS Deal

Ryan McCredden
CBS RADIO Houston has announced Ryan McCredden will continue his role as Program Director for the popular sports talk stations, SportsRadio KILT 610 AM and CBS Sports Radio KIKK 650 AM.

Under his leadership, McCredden has increased the ratings for both stations and been influential in securing the market’s partnership with the Houston Dynamo.  SportsRadio 610 is the home of the Houston Texans and the media partner for Super Bowl LI.

Charese Fruge, Vice President, Programming, stated, “Ryan is a smart programmer, brilliant negotiator and an absolute joy to work with. He is adored by his team from the top down. We are very lucky to have him and proud to have strengthened our commitment to the continued success of 610 and 650.”

McCredden’s radio career started at age 19 in Eau Claire, Wis. as a board operator for the local affiliate of the Green Bay Packers.   After 4 years McCredden landed his first full time job as a producer for a news/talk show in Madison, Wisc.  His rapid success and keen understanding of the industry caught the attention of decision-makers at KRLD-AM in Dallas.  During his time in Dallas, McCredden was asked to manage the Texas Ranger’s broadcasts in addition to his role as Assistant Program Director (APD) for KRLD-FM.  Before landing in Houston, McCredden was recruited as Program Director for KQTH and KFFN in Tucson, AZ.

“I’m thrilled to continue working with my team at SportsRadio 610 and CBS Sports Radio 650.  We strive to be difference-makers in the world of sports. The station accomplished impactful things on air, on-site and online during my time here,” McCredden stated.  “Our team works tirelessly to create unique and experience-driven events for our passionate listeners, all the while helping to support our community.  Houston has been a great city to me and my family, and I look forward to sticking around!”
