Chicago Radio: WUSN Rebrands As 'Chicago's Hottest Country'

CBS Radio today unveiled a rebranding for its Country station WUSN 99.5 FM.  The station is now branding as 'Chicago Hottest Hits US 99'.

The changes come in the wake of the deparature last week of key on-air peronsalities. Gone are:
  • Ramblin' Ray Stevens (who departed to team with Big John Howell at Talk WLS 890 AM).
  • Lisa Dent, recently inducted into the Country Radio Hall-of-Fame, was fired along with morning show producer Katherine Murphy
  • Joel 'Jax' Jackson, who was evening host.
New air talent could be announced as soon as this week.

Monday morning,  the station changed logo branding that had been used since the '90s,  CBS Radio also added a new tag line "Chicago's Hottest Country."

The changes counter recent efforts by iHeartMedia's WEBG Big 95.5 FM, which has been eroding WUSN's younger demos.
