Gainesville Radio: 104.9 FM Drops Classic Hits For News/Talk


JVC Media of Florida has announced a new News/Talk format for WYGC 104.9 FM in Gainesville-Ocala, FL.

The new radio station, dubbed 104.9 The Talk of Gainesville, will launch at Midnight Thursday August 4th from JVC Media’s Downtown Gainesville studios with non-stop local news, weather, and traffic in addition to the legendary Imus in the Morning and Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade.

“104.9 The Talk of Gainesville will be locally programmed to allow our community to discuss issues important to Gainesville residents”, says WYGC Program Director and JVC Media Vice President Matthew Goldapper.  “104.9 The Talk of Gainesville will focus on Gainesville news and issues, weather, traffic, and sports.  The addition of the great Dom Imus in mornings and Brian Kilmeade’s Kilmeade and Friends in middays will help give the market an outstanding outlet for exciting and different opinions.”

JVC Gainesville-Ocala Operations Manager Ben Burris adds, “104.9 The Talk of Gainesville will have the market talking about our local non-stop news, weather, traffic, and sports.”  Burris continues, “Don Imus and Brian Kilmeade add an unbeatable level of intelligence, humor, and opinion in an important election year that has never before been heard in Gainesville.”
