WWOne, Jim Bohannon Sign Multi-year Deal

Jim Bohannon
Westwood One today announced it has signed a new multi-year agreement with Jim Bohannon to continue hosting his namesake program.

The Jim Bohannon Show, a unique mix of topical issues, newsmakers, and pop culture, is now in its 33rd year and airs on more than 250 stations nationwide. As part of his renewal, Westwood One is launching a new Jim Bohannon podcast and Best of Bohannon program, which will air on affiliates including WLS-AM/Chicago, WBAP-AM/Dallas, KXL-FM/Portland, WTMJ-AM, Milwaukee, and more.

In other news, Bohannon has been selected to be one of the live crowd announcers for the Inaugural Parade in Washington, DC on January 20. He will be introducing and describing the participating organizations to the throngs gathered along his location on Pennsylvania Avenue.

"I'm delighted and honored to continue working with Westwood One,” said Bohannon. “It's especially gratifying now that the New Year finds me reaching even more stations with the weekly ‘Best of Bohannon’ broadcast. Here's to a fantastic 2017!"

A recipient of numerous industry awards and honors, including winner of the RTDNA First Amendment Award, Bohannon has been a member of TALKERS magazine's Heavy Hundred every year since its inception in 1995 and received the TALKERS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.  He was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2003.

“Jim Bohannon is a rare treasure in our business,” said Suzanne Grimes, President of Westwood One and EVP, Corporate Marketing for Cumulus Media. “The longer he’s on the air, the stronger the delivery to our stations, to our listeners, and to our advertisers. It’s an honor to work with a radio Hall of Famer still in the prime of his career.”
