Boston Radio: Pats QB Tom Brady Shuts Down WEEI Interview

Tom Brady cut his weekly radio interview on WEEI 93.7 FM short on Monday, citing a recent comment made about his daughter on the station.

The Boston Globe reports Brady said it was “very disappointing” to hear a derogatory comment about her and ended the normally longer segment.

On WEEI’s “Kirk & Callahan,” on Monday, Brady called out the station for comments made the preceding Thursday by host Alex Reimer about Brady’s daughter, Vivian, and her appearance in the documentary, “Tom vs. Time.” On air, Reimer referred to her as an “annoying little piss-ant.”

“It was very disappointing to hear that, my daughter or any child certainly does not deserve that,” Brady responded before ending the call.

Brady said he is going to assess whether he wants to continue doing weekly interviews with the station.

According to WEEI’s story on the subject, Reimer was suspended indefinitely on Friday. Reimer is not one of the regular hosts of the weekday morning show.

On Jan. 24, the Patriots and WEEI’s parent company, Entercom, announced an extension of the existing partnership, which includes weekly interviews with Brady and Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

According to Reimer’s bio page on WEEI’s website, he has been a contributor for Forbes Magazine, Boston Magazine, SB Nation, and the Boston Herald. In addition to appearances on WEEI’s radio programs, he also writes columns for the station’s website.
