Like Zach, Cichon worked for years at WBEN before leaving in 2013.

He will anchor the news on WECK's morning show, "WECK Coffee Club," which features co-hosts Tom Dohanue and Gail Ann Huber.

Besides working at WBEN, Cichon has worked for several other news organizations in Buffalo over a more than 20-year radio and TV career.

In announcing Cichon's hiring, WECK Owner Buddy Shula said of Cichon: “He’s a true Buffalonian who is woven into the fabric our community – and he’s an excellent broadcaster.”

In a WECK release, Cichon said he is looking forward to his new job.

“Being the voice people depend upon for the top local news stories of the day is a big responsibility – and I’m looking forward to telling those stories.  I’m also looking forward to telling unique Buffalo stories our listeners won’t get anywhere else.”
