Nashville Radio: WRPT, NHL Predators Renew Vows

The NHL Nashville Predators announced a three-year extension with WPRT 102.5 The Game for the station to remain the flagship of the National Hockey League team’s radio network through the 2020-21 season.

The Game has been the local radio home for Predators’ broadcasts and related programming since 2011.

“We’ve been with the Nashville Predators for seven years and we’re happy to make it a decade,” Bud Walters, president of Cromwell radio, the station’s parent company, said in a release. “The Nashville Predators are so important to our hometown.”

The Predators radio network consists of a dozen stations that cover much of Tennessee and reach into Alabama, Kentucky and Illinois.

In addition to game broadcasts featuring longtime play-by-play announcer Pete Weber, 102.5 produces pregame and postgame shows for all 82 regular season contests as well as playoff games.

“Nashville Predators broadcasts and our unprecedented coverage allow us to deliver on our promise of being Nashville’s Best Sports Talk all day,” said Jana Hampton, marketing manager for Cromwell. “We will continue to give listeners the coverage they deserve and look forward to broadcasting the Nashville Predators as they pursue their ultimate goal of winning the Stanley Cup.”

Added Predators executive vice president Chris Junghans: “The success of our team would not be where it is today, without the dedication and support of the entire 102.5 The Game staff and on-air personalities.”
