TV Ratings: Stormy Is Hot For '60 Minutes'

Porn star Stormy Daniels’ name was trending wildly in social media Monday after her interview on “60 Minutes” aired Sunday night and scored big ratings, according to The NY Post..

The CBS show hit 16.3/27 in the 56 Nielsen-metered markets – a huge jump from the previous Sunday’s 7.6/13.

The numbers were the news mag’s best since Steve Kroft interviewed Barack and Michelle Obama in November 2008 shortly after he was elected president. That interview clocked a metered-marked 17.4/26.

During Sunday’s broadcast, Daniels described her alleged 2006 fling with Donald Trump and said she was threatened in 2011 over an interview in which she claimed to have had unprotected sex with him.

Her long-awaited sit-down with Anderson Cooper – in which she revealed that she wasn’t attracted to the future president — started about 35 minutes late on the East Coast because of an NCAA basketball game overrun.

Some critics reacted to the Daniels interview by saying it didn’t break a lot of new ground.

But the interview itself was news — representing her first time speaking on camera about her alleged affair, the alleged threat and the hush money she received from Trump’s personal lawyer.

Cooper, an anchor on CNN, told CBSNews.com about his interview with Daniels: “For us, it wasn’t so much ‘there was an affair.’ That’s not as much the headline. For us, it’s everything that has happened since and how we’ve gotten to this point.
